Zambia Association of Manufacturers sits on the Zambia Revenue Authority Customs Clearing Agents Advisory Licensing Committee. The Committee constitutes different industry players and is chaired by the Commissioner for Customs Services Mr. Sydney Chibbabuka. The mandate of the committee is to approve clearing agents’ licenses for a particular licensing period as well as provide checks and balances to the Credibility and Controls department. Additionally, the committee creates a platform for Zambia Revenue Authority to have an interface with industry and discuss issues that affect the sector.
The committee was scheduled to sit in the 2nd quarter, however, due to the spread of the COVID – 19 pandemic, the sitting was delayed.
