The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM), a business association representing the interests of the entire manufacturing sector and other related economic and/or production sectors in Zambia is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Membership and Business Development Specialist for the Northern Region. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the growth and development of our membership base while ensuring the financial stability of the organization.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Expected Start Date: Immediately
Location: Kitwe
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement membership development programs and strategies to increase ZAM’s membership in the Northern Region (Copperbelt, North-Western, Luapula, Muchinga and Northern Provinces).
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to establish and maintain an accurate database of the manufacturing base and other relevant information.
- Analyse membership data to identify trends, track performance indicators, and provide regular reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Engage with current and prospective members through effective communication channels, surveys, and visitations.
- Identify and engage with potential donors, funders, and partners to support membership development initiatives.
- Lead recruitment campaigns and initiatives to attract new members to ZAM.
- Implement retention strategies, including member orientation programs, regular visitations, and addressing inquiries from members and potential members.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of membership growth strategies, recommend improvements, and measure progress towards membership goals
- Manage the departmental budget, propose member fees, and ensure timely financial planning and reporting.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly departmental reports to provide valuable information for decision-making.
- Supervise the Membership department, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and the achievement of organizational objectives.
Personal Requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven professional work experience in membership development, business development, or related roles
- Knowledge and understanding of the political economy of the Zambian manufacturing sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse data and identify trends
- Ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to draft project plans, concept notes, publish articles, blogs, and social media content
- Proficiency in using databases and computer applications
- Valid driver’s license
