Manufacturing National Occupational Standards

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) took part in a workshop from 20th to 24th July, 2020, called by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) to develop standards aimed at bridging the skills gap between industry and academia. Over the years, it has been noted that there has been a misalignment between industry requirements and academic training. Hence, leading to various industry players importing skills as opposed to having an additional cost of training the graduates. Therefore, the manufacturing national occupational standards among with other standards provide a sustainable means of ensuring the effectiveness of national strategies such as local content strategy among others.
