The Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry (MCTI) is responsible for the development and coordination of policy, and programmes related to trade and industry. With the expiration of MCTIs 2011 to 2016 Strategic Plan, the Ministry has initiated the development of a new Ministerial Strategic Plan as a guideline of its operations; the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan themed “A proactive Ministry, providing a dynamic and responsive environment that fosters the growth and competitiveness of industry and commerce.”
Amongst other things the draft 2018-2021 Strategic Plan aims to improve enterprise growth and competitiveness, stimulate and encourage domestic value addition., enhance investment promotion and local products promotion, promote capacity building and value-chains in priority sectors such as MFEZ, strengthen bilateral, regional and multilateral engagements, and enhanced consultative engagements with relevant stakeholders.
Zambia Association of Manufacturers is currently in the process of collecting member submissions and comments on the Ministerial Strategic Plan. All manufacturers are encouraged to channel their submissions to the ZAM Secretariat for compilation and onward submission to the Ministry.
We look forward to providing stakeholder input that will contribute to shaping the strategies and actions of our line Ministry over the next three years.
