Introducing the New Chief Executive Officer

Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) welcomes its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Florence Muleya. Florence previously worked for 5 years as a Researcher and Manager at the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR), an institution committed to
working towards sound economic policies. Her roles included providing evidence-based solutions for public policy influence and implementation as well as managing research projects.

Before that, she worked for the Zambia Revenue Authority for 7 years, in both the Customs Services and the Domestic Taxes Division in various portfolios and worked with the private sector, advising on tax matters.

Her educational background includes a Master of Science degree in Trade Policy and Trade Law from Lund University, Sweden (2010) in which she graduated with distinction and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Zambia (2007).

Florence is looking forward to spearheading the team at ZAM. She envisages that under her
leadership, ZAM will generate learning and facilitate problem-solving in the manufacturing
sector. As an optimist, she believes that within the COVID -19 obstacle lies a seed of an equal or greater opportunity to learn valuable lessons that can be ultimately used to better
manufacturing and fully entrench the Proudly Zambian Campaign.

Aside from her career, her other interests include community service. She is the current Secretary in the Minestone community, 9 miles Chibombo, where the community worked together to upgrade a 10-kilometer gravel road. She is also a “Young African Leaders” alumnus, who enjoys reading and loves to watch soccer in her free time. In her family life, Florence is a mother of 2 lovely girls and a handsome baby boy and is a wife.

Join us in wishing her the very best in this challenging role.
