VACANCY – Project Coordinator

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator. This position involves managing the Proudly Zambian Campaign, conducting research, and implementing strategies to promote locally produced goods. The successful candidate will also work closely with various stakeholders to drive the campaign’s objectives.

Location: Lusaka

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Campaign Management and Supervision:
  • Oversee and supervise the Proudly Zambian Campaign (PZC), ensuring that all activities align with the campaign’s goals and objectives.
  • Conduct relevant research, policy analysis, and advocacy to support practical policy implementation for the PZC campaign.
  • Identify issues within the PZC that need to be addressed in the strategic plan and develop strategies for the campaign’s growth.
  1. Marketing and Promotion:
  • Undertake marketing campaigns aimed at increasing the consumption of locally produced goods.
  • Promote value addition in PZC members’ products and services through various initiatives.
  • Establish and implement capacity-building programs for PZC members to improve product quality standards and production quantities.
  1. Strategic Initiatives:
  • Create a strong SME base through a supplier development initiative, linking SMEs to large PZC members.
  • Strengthen partnerships within industry sub-sectors and with PZC members to enhance collaboration and growth.
  • Obtain and disseminate information on local consumption needs, domestic trade capacity building, and training opportunities to PZC members.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Successfully relate and collaborate with PZC members, government officials, development partners, and other stakeholders to further the campaign’s objectives.
  • Undertake training sessions aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of PZC members.

Person Specification:

  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Trade and Investment, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and proposal writing skills, with fluency in spoken English.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate confidently with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, statistical packages, and internet search engines.
  • Understanding of the Zambian Government’s policy-making process.
